What we stand for
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on the planet. It is also one of the most vulnerable. As someone who works to protect it professionally, sustainability is not a marketing word for me — it is a value I live by. It shapes the materials I choose, the way I work, and the kind of business I want SunVoyager to be.
Behind SunVoyager stands a small but mighty team — three wonderful women, each with their own story and their own drive to make the world a better place. Together we bring that same energy to everything we do, from the pieces we create to the way we show up for our customers and our community.
Where it began
I am a marine biologist based in Tropical North Queensland — and somewhere between the fieldwork and the research, I started making jewellery.
After completing a Master's degree in Marine Biology, I found myself at a crossroads — deciding whether to pursue a PhD while quietly needing a break from academia. So I did what felt natural. I went back to the ocean.
Having relocated to Tropical North Queensland, I found myself living alongside one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on the planet. I spent my spare time diving the kind of underwater landscapes that are genuinely difficult to put into words, and finding inspiration in everything the reef had to offer — its colours, its textures, its quiet and extraordinary magic. All of that wonder had to go somewhere. I started turning it into jewellery — handcrafting pieces that captured the feeling of being beneath the surface.
I started wearing what I made. People started asking where they could get it. And just like that, SunVoyager was born — not out of a business plan, but out of an overflow of inspiration that needed somewhere to go.
Where we are now
Today I am a full-time marine biologist working to protect and restore water quality on the Great Barrier Reef — and I am also the sole owner behind SunVoyager. I live at the reef's shoreline and dive its depths regularly, which means the inspiration behind this label comes straight from the ocean.
SunVoyager balances the intellect and technical scientific world I live in with creation and inspiration. Each piece is handcrafted with care using quality materials, and designed to carry a little of the reef's beauty with it wherever it goes.
You matter here
I didn't start SunVoyager for the hustle. I started it because I had more inspiration than I knew what to do with, and it turns out other people wanted to be part of it.
